0The Grand Gothic Halloween Steampunk Sideshow Spectacular!
Here comes Halloween! And a scary Halloween party tour! Lord Montague Jacques Fromage and New Jacobin Club Present: The Grand Gothic Halloween Steampunk Sideshow Spectacular.
With the current tension in international political relations, as in the US vs. the world, it is time for profound unification, a time for courageous personalities to step forward and bridge the gap, or hop over the wall as it were, to hold hands across their respective nation’s borders and declare, in a booming, delirious chorus, “Relations between the United States of America and Canada are stable, sensible and sustainable!” Given, a shorter, catchy, ear wormy slogan would be more effective, but the sentiment is there.
This 2017 Halloween season, prepare for the Creature Commandos of Public Relations to present their unique brand of international solidarity to an eager, unified fan base!
New York’s legendary Lord Montague Jacques Fromage is collaborating with Canada’s veteran theatrical shock-rockers New Jacobin Club to record a new, original single and head out for a historic Halloween season tour dubbed The Grand Gothic Halloween Steampunk Sideshow Spectacular combining steampunk, funk, punk-noir, burlesque, torches, historical rivalries, dance music, and the set of any William Castle / Rob Zombie mash-up movie.
Making his first Western Canadian appearance, Lord Montague Jacques Fromage, who has been currently headlining in Las Vegas at the Main Street Station Hotel and Casino for Steamathon the last two years, is a globetrotting entertainer who is in high demand at steampunk conventions and alternative music festivals worldwide. His musical project, SteampunkFunk Bizarre, combines hip hop and danceable funk with a colourful Victorian twist.
Imagine a top hatted, dread-locked, ornately groomed-beard wearing Vincent Price fronting a Frank Zappa tribute band using George Clinton and the P-Funk All Stars as the backing musicians playing Victorian-influenced dance songs about Jack the Ripper and absinthe.
Re-read that last sentence a few times to absorb the full effect.
New Jacobin Club is punk-noir, metal-infused, shock-rock par excellence, and one of Western Canada’s most enigmatic, and followed, independent bands creating an 80s thrash aesthetic combined with gothic rock operas; the best soundtrack for a public beheading with a rusty guillotine. NJC’s (as their friends call them…no they don’t…) infamous live show features stunts using swords, burning cymbals, nails, human oddities, and sledgehammers set to rousing riff-filled dark rock accompanied by electric cello, theremin and mixed voiced vocalists.
An added bonus for hometown Saskatoon fans are featured performances by members of the Menagerie Burlesque Co. and DJs from the The Underground Gothic Industrial Dance Party.
With Tom Waits as a circus barker calling the gathering passerby’s attentions, “Come one! Come all! To the Grand Gothic Halloween Steampunk Sideshow Spectacular where your night of fun-filled chaos awaits! Peace on Earth! Goodwill to All! And let the nations burn as they fall!”
Prepare for Lord Montague Jacques Fromage and the New Jacobin Club to present at the United Nations with their “Peace for the Nations” concept EP, should the world still exist after their Grand Gothic Halloween Steampunk Sideshow Spectacular.
