Saskatoon Alt Rockers, il Creatura Release Debut Album
With the excitement of spring, end of restrictions, and touring options opening on the horizon, Saskatoon alternative band, il Creatura have just released their debut, self-titled album on May 17th, 2022. Featuring former members of The Sheepdogs, The Pistolwhips, and Volcanoless in Canada, the band will start the promotion of the album with a show at Capitol Music Club in Saskatoon on May 27th.
The album was produced by the band and renowned producer, Howard Redekopp (Mother Mother, Tegan and Sara, The New Pornographers). It features 8 tracks which meld searing fuzz riffs over changing time signatures and soundscapes bordering on psychedelic, a-la the recently released single ‘Paper Flower Beauty’. Distorted, catchy bass lines, atypical song structures, and off-kilter rhythms are tools the band uses heavily throughout the albums short 28 min play time.
On May 27th, the band will officially celebrate the album’s release with a show at The Capitol in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Unlike a typical rock show, this show has been curated with an inclusiveness not seen enough. Hosted by stand up comedian Drew Behm, the night will feature a drag performance by Karma K Meleon, indie r&b locals after.two.am., the album and Saskatoon premiere of il Creatura, and closed off by party rocker Redbull 3style finalist DJ Charly Hustle.
The band will follow up this live event with several festivals and live dates throughout the rest of 2022. A full radio campaign will ensure that the band will be featured at stations across Canada.

It’s been a challenging few years for everyone, and this release from il Creatura will help to signal the return of energetic, live music in Canada, as well as put a spotlight on the incredible talent this city has, and the excitement of the alternative entertainment scene in Western Canada.
